Lakes Region Ice Racing Club
Latchkey Cup

Moultonborough, NH:
In 1984, the Lakes Region Ice Racing Club created the annual benefit race now known as the Latchkey Cup. The race was first held on Meredith Bay, which is how the name came about - Meredith is known as the “Latchkey” to the White Mountains. As time went on, the race was moved to Berry Pond in Moultonborough.
For many years, the club donated the Latchkey earnings to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Lebanon, NH because they wanted the fundraising to be dedicated to an organization fighting cancer. Over the next 28 years, the LRIRC donated over $227,000.00 to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. All involved are very proud of this accomplishment.
The 40-year total is now over $306,000.00 raised. This is a testimony to the fact that the efforts of a community can and do make a difference.
The Lakes Region Ice Racing Club would like to extend their gratitude to everyone that has helped us with our Latchkey Cup in the past years.
The Latchkey Cup is tentatively set for the last Saturday in January each year, starting at 10:00 am., weather and ice permitting.
